Overview

Image2Excel is a browser-first tool for converting table images into editable spreadsheet previews. The basic converter processes the image in your browser session.

Uploaded Images

For the free image-to-Excel flow, recognition runs in your browser and the image is not uploaded to a server or stored by Image2Excel. A live network test on 2026-10-14 confirmed that the image itself is not sent.

Analytics

The site uses the following analytics services for anonymous usage data:

• Umami, self-hosted at umami.panjin.dev
• Google Analytics
• GEOInflow, self-hosted at geo.panjin.dev

GEOInflow records only standard page views, such as the page URL and referrer, and receives no converter events. Umami and Google Analytics receive the same converter events. Event names include upload_image, ocr_start, preview_shown, table_edit, export_csv, export_xlsx, conversion_failed, converter_crash, and memory_error.

An upload event can include the file type and the file size as a number. A preview event can include the OCR engine, a confidence number, the row count, the column count, and the cell count. Events can also include the tool page, the recognition method, and the selected OCR language. A crash or memory event can include a device-memory tier and image width and height. It does not include the image, the file name, OCR text, or table cells. A conversion failure can include an error type, a short code-level error message, the MIME type, and image width and height. That message is truncated and does not include the file name, image contents, or recognized text.

The image itself and the table contents are not sent. A live network test on 2026-10-14 verified that analytics requests do not include the image, recognized text, or cell values. File names are not sent either.

Umami excludes query parameters and URL fragments from page URLs. Google Analytics also records a standard page view, such as the page URL, in addition to these events. We do not enable session recordings or heatmaps.

Personal Information

The basic converter does not require an account. If we later add contact forms, batch conversion, API access, or paid features, we may collect the information needed to provide those services.

Third-Party Services

Umami at umami.panjin.dev, Google Analytics, and GEOInflow at geo.panjin.dev process the limited usage data described above. GEOInflow receives standard page views only and does not receive converter events. If server-side OCR or storage is added later, this policy will be updated before those features become part of the public flow.
